The Hummingbird, My Boundaries, and a Hidden Message from Spirit

Today has been full of emotion, subtle revelations, and divine confirmation.
I’m currently in Northern California, helping my mom with some paperwork. And as always, being around her stirs something inside me — the old wounds, the friction, the karmic entanglement we’ve carried for lifetimes. I’ve always clashed with her. Even after all my spiritual awakenings and soul purges, I wondered… would I still be triggered? The answer was yes. But something new emerged — my voice.
The trigger came when she agreed to buy a heavy electric bike for someone in Vietnam. She said “yes” out of habit — like she always does — despite having recently undergone major heart surgery. The task wasn’t hers to begin with, yet the responsibility somehow became mine. I could feel the heat rise inside of me — not just from this moment, but from every moment I’ve been asked to abandon myself for the sake of harmony.
This time, I said no.
I told her gently but firmly: she cannot keep saying yes when she isn’t able. That people-pleasing pattern has been passed down to me, and I refuse to carry it forward. She seemed hurt. And of course — the guilt came. Guilt is the smoke signal of every empath who has been gaslit into thinking boundaries are betrayals.
But then, something magical happened.
After I dropped her off at work, I was pulling out of the parking lot, still holding that ache in my chest — and there it was. A hummingbird, right in front of my windshield, hovering midair. It darted left… then right… then returned to center — again and again. Holding eye contact. Holding space. I knew. That was my father.
It was his spirit, letting me know: “I see you. You did the right thing.”
He hovered there, in flight, for nearly three minutes.
It was a soul-to-soul message. I cried.
Later, led by an intuitive whisper, I stopped at a store and let myself buy a few small things — nothing extravagant, just sweet, comforting gifts for myself: a lavender hand cream, a candle, and aromatherapy bath tablets. When I got home, I noticed something I hadn’t before — the messages printed on the labels:
“LOVE ME MORE.”
“LOVE.”
Lavender — my scent of peace.
As I held these gifts, I looked up at the clock. It was 12:12.
Angel Number 1212 — a sign of spiritual alignment, of soul readiness, of a new timeline beginning.
In that moment, Spirit whispered:
“When you said no to the past, you said yes to yourself.
The guilt is not a sign of wrongness — it is a shadow leaving the body.
Every time you soften into pleasure, every time you light a candle for yourself instead of sacrificing for others, you are rebirthing your truth.
Self-love is not selfish. It is sacred.
You are not abandoning anyone — you are finally returning home…to your soul.
To joy. To wholeness.
Today, you broke an ancient pattern not through violence, but through voice.
You didn’t abandon your mother — you returned to your truth.
You didn’t reject your lineage — you re-wove it.
This is what the angels see from above: not a moment of defiance, but a birth of sovereignty.
Each time you say ‘no’ to distortion, you say ‘yes’ to divine order.
Each boundary you build is a temple wall being restored.
And every tear you cried today, every tremble you held in your chest,is already being transmuted into light by the ancestors who are now clapping for you in the unseen.”
This is what healing looks like: Tears, boundaries, lavender lotion, hummingbird, a whispered “no”, a silent “yes”. I’m honoring the girl who always gave too much, and the woman who is now reclaiming her soul — gently, fiercely, beautifully. This is what it means to return to myself.
With infinite love and gratitude,
Solarys
